Common questions

Frequently asked questions

When should I book my first antenatal visit?

Ideally as soon as your pregnancy test is positive — an early visit lets us confirm the pregnancy, date it accurately and start folic acid if you have not already.

Which supplements do I need in pregnancy?

Folic acid before conception and through the first trimester, with iron and calcium as advised at your visits. Other supplements are individual — discuss them before starting.

I have a fever while pregnant — what should I do?

Fever in pregnancy always deserves a same-day medical check, especially during dengue season. Paracetamol is safe to use at the recommended dose while you seek advice.

How many scans will I have?

A dating scan in early pregnancy, an anomaly scan around 20 weeks, and growth scans as advised — your consultant will plan these with you.
